Kenya Kitagawa

People change depending on where, and with whom, they meet. Born in Chikuma, Nagano. After graduating from the Department of Architecture at Nagano Technical High School and spending three and a half years in the workforce, Kitagawa studied in Fiji and went on a working holiday in Australia. Living in shared houses with people of different nationalities and values loosened long-held assumptions and brought a way of seeing things on a level footing. After returning to Japan, Kitagawa worked on site as an independent tradesperson, then moved on to site management and assisting with architectural project management before joining U Share. Kitagawa now handles building management and FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment) within PM/BM operations. As a developer-architect engaged with architecture consistently from concept through construction, Kitagawa envisions and gives shape, through architecture and space, to the "encounters" and "connections" that would never arise on conventional tracks.
