U Share Nishi Waseda

Built on the founder's formative experience living in a Harvard University student residence, this project develops an international student residence where living and learning are one. Land was acquired in Nishi-Waseda, on Waseda University's doorstep, and everything from real estate investment through architectural design to operations was handled end-to-end -- making this the flagship location. The environment is shaped using materials drawn from Harvard University itself, such as brick and divided window sashes. And because the transition from private space to public space is composed as a gradient, it is easy to find both a favorite spot of your own and a comfortable distance from others.
