Born in Hakodate, Hokkaido. He serves as a director of a national federation of vacation-rental operators and as a lecturer in the rental management department of a school for real estate owners. Asking himself what living truly means, he spent a month experiencing homelessness. There he encountered a community of people living freely, and came to realize that the value of a home depends not only on the physical container but also, to a great degree, on its software, its inner substance. Reinforced by his experience living in a student dormitory at Hokkaido University, this led him to keep living in co-living arrangements even after entering the workforce, in pursuit of a life of living together with others.
