The Empire of a 17-Year-Old
2021

This drama is an original work starring Fuju Kamio, written by screenwriter Reiko Yoshida. It is a work of SF entertainment that follows young leaders -- chosen by AI under the 'Utopi-AI' initiative, nicknamed UA, launched to break out of the present state of a Japan that the world has come to call a declining nation in the near-future year 202X -- as they strive to transform a regional city into a city of the future. We cooperated on the script related to the television drama's production, the near-future urban and regional development concepts envisioned by UA, the CG production, and more.
For this drama supervision, we drew on the urban planning and design, architectural design, and real estate development methods we have cultivated to depict a realistic vision of near-future administration and town-making. Imagining what possibilities the future envisioned by AI and the young leaders might hold, and picturing the era's backdrop and the sentiment of the community in 202X, we produced each of the urban development proposals. Real urban design and this drama are alike: both begin by drawing a fictional vision and then make a near-future worldview like this one real through CG and video. As a socially conscious drama, this scenario was a nail-biter even for us, but the several near-future city visions the AI and the young leaders arrived at each had their own distinctive character, with finely detailed, persuasive background settings.
