The Power of
SHARE.

"Who you live with, how you live, and the kind of time you spend together — these can change a life from its very foundations." This belief grew out of a formative experience of mine: the dense, unforgettable time I spent in a student dormitory during my studies at Harvard. Living together around the clock, continually sharing one another's diverse values, cultural backgrounds, and academic expertise, we found that so much was born — discovery, creation, and countless connections. The barrier of language, the barrier of culture, the walls between fields of expertise — all sorts of barriers rise up before us, day after day. And yet, when you summon the courage to take one step forward and share, the other person, after all, shares back. Whether your English is grammatically correct is beside the point. "Language is just a Language." It was the very willingness to share that propelled me forward, drew in the people around me, and widened the scope of what we could become. But places like that are rarely close at hand, and not everyone is able to find themselves in such an environment. And so I arrived at a conviction: if that is the case, then we have no choice but to reinvent the "place" ourselves. To do that, it is absolutely essential to rethink the very mechanics of real-estate investment, to carry on a ceaseless dialogue between design and investment, and to connect it all to operations capable of producing experiences that change lives. In other words, we need a team that can think through investment, design, and operations as one seamless whole — and so let us share each person's expertise to the fullest! This, I believe, is the very approach that carries a project beyond mere real-estate development, architectural design, or urban planning, into a realm that exceeds the imagination. Picture it. The precious time we "Share" with ourselves, with our families, with the friends who know us best, and with the business partners we have yet to meet. Everyone reveling in their own life, growing at times, at times leaping boldly out of the comfort zone, celebrating one another's successes — and of course, never confined to a circle here at home, but with those connections spreading across the entire world. We believe that this cross-disciplinary, seamless approach will surely keep reinventing the true worth of people and of places. I can picture it vividly in my mind: a circle of companions who believe in The Power of Share widening and connecting — and even a hundred years and more into the future, a U Share Inc. still discerning the true worth and essence of its own era and continuing to reinvent places. "Anything one man can imagine, other men can make real." Just as Jules Verne said, have we not, as humankind, always taken an idea imagined by one person and seen it realized by someone else in a different age, in a different place? It is said that Homo sapiens, too, survived and flourished precisely because of the power of sharing and imagination. I believe that ideas and values, resources and capital, when shared with someone, hold the power to move someone in the future and drive them on toward making it real. What we can share in this era of ours, what we can keep reinventing — we will pour everything we have into it. And the people to whom we have shared our convictions will surely be the ones running U Share Inc. a hundred years from now. By then, the population of those who have come to have some connection with the places U Share Inc. has gone on reinventing will have surpassed one hundred million, and those who believe in the power of Share will surely be advancing mutual understanding across the world. And if mutual understanding advances, then is the potential of humankind not, indeed, infinite? To that end, for now, there is simply nothing to do but to go on creating, step by step, the "places" where people live vibrantly and fully alive.
