Odawara Area Redevelopment

Under the development concepts of 'contributing to the community through the development of the former Sawatei site,' 'community-building that connects young people and seniors through 'children',' and 'fostering Odawara's area collaboration and future town-making by linking the generations,' this is the plan for a multigenerational mixed-use residential complex that brings together the functions of an 'education and childcare facility,' 'units for young child-rearing families,' 'units for senior families,' and 'a rooftop for socializing.' The exterior design stacks 'hojo'-type boxes as though the generations themselves accumulate, evoking the stone masonry that inherits Sawatei's history and recalls the history of Odawara; the interior design features windows reminiscent of a castle's gun ports that frame Odawara's beautiful scenery and its high-ground views, while plaster-toned white walls reflect the surrounding greenery to lend a fresh atmosphere; and the project takes the latest environmental consideration as its guiding principle, fully equipped with state-of-the-art environmentally conscious facilities precisely because this is a life set apart from the city, realizing a circular lifestyle of coexistence through the latest technology (EV charging, solar sharing, and the like).
