Founding Story
It began with the power of share
U Share Student began with the founders’ experience of dormitory life overseas. Their days in a Harvard University dormitory were filled with learning beyond the classroom: the energy of diversity, and the small moments of growth that come from living with people of different nationalities, religions, and backgrounds. “People grow most when they encounter different worlds.” The desire to create such a place in Japan — where encounters turn into learning — is how U Share Student was born. We call this idea the “Power of Share.” Sharing is not just dividing up things or space. It means sharing time, experiences, conversations, failures, and challenges. We believe this daily chain of sharing is what leads people to grow.

Students from more than ten countries live here, alongside many Japanese students. In a bilingual environment where English and Japanese mix naturally, daily life itself becomes international exchange.
Spaces for focus and connection
Quiet places to concentrate — the library lounge and study room — and lively places to connect, like the lounge and rooftop terrace, all in one building. Private rooms come fully furnished, so you can start your new life with just a suitcase.
Bilingual (EN/JA) support
A professional Community Manager and resident leaders known as RAs (Resident Assistants) are always there to help — from daily life and course registration to questions about your future career.

Japan’s four seasons, and chances to learn, woven into daily life
Spring hanami, summer yukata festivals, autumn foliage trips, and winter mochi-making. Seasonal events are planned not only by our team, but by residents themselves. The flagship residence of U Share Student, opened in March 2021. Featuring 31 rooms in total, all fully furnished with appliances so no move-in preparation is required. This model is designed for shared living, with four residents per floor sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities.
