As a general rule, resident selection is conducted twice a year, in the spring and autumn. In addition, if vacancies are available, selection may also be conducted on an inquiry basis.

The total varies by room type. Estimated move-in payments (first month plus initial fees) for standard contracts of 7 months or longer are: 【WC1 (Nishi-Waseda)】 JPY 385,500 – 398,500 【WC2 (Omokagebashi)】 JPY 412,000 – 421,000 * For 5–6 month contracts the initial fees are JPY 40,000 lower. A monthly plan with no initial fees is available for stays of 1–4 months. * A move-out cleaning fee of JPY 33,000 may be collected at the time of contract. * A detailed quotation will be provided upon inquiry. All amounts include tax.

Waseda has university-run dormitories, affiliated or recommended dormitories, and dormitories for exchange students. University-run and exchange-student dormitories are applied for through the student dormitory desk; affiliated and recommended dormitories are managed by their operating companies. Yes. U Share accepts students from any university and any year, as undergraduates, graduate students or exchange students. Median asking rents for studio to 1DK homes within a 15-minute walk of the station, June to November 2025, were JPY 100,500 at Takadanobaba, JPY 102,600 at Nishi-Waseda and JPY 111,000 at Waseda, according to SUUMO. Those are rent figures only: management and common-area fees, utilities and internet come on top. At U Share, rent from JPY 69,000 plus fixed monthly fees gives a monthly total from JPY 110,500 at WC1 and from JPY 127,000 at WC2.

Both WC1 and WC2 are about a 7-minute walk from Waseda University's main campus, with the Toyama and Nishi-Waseda campuses within walking or cycling distance. For stations: WC1 (Nishi-Waseda) is 5 minutes' walk from Nishi-Waseda Station, 7 from Takadanobaba and 10 from Waseda; WC2 (Omokagebashi) is 3 minutes from Omokagebashi Station and 6 from Nishi-Waseda.

We are an international student residence rather than a guest house, but for stays of one to four months there is a monthly plan: JPY 150,000–155,000 a month at WC1 and JPY 184,000–188,000 at WC2. It is all-inclusive, there are no initial fees, and the private room comes furnished. Rooms are subject to availability. Staying five months or longer?
