Best Study Spots Near U Share

For students living at U Share, one of the biggest advantages is the location. With Waseda University’s Waseda, Toyama, and Nishi-Waseda campuses, as well as Takadanobaba and Nishiwaseda nearby, you can always find the perfect place to focus on assignments, prepare for exams, or simply enjoy a productive afternoon when needed. Whether you prefer complete silence in a library, the relaxing atmosphere of a café with good coffee, or the convenience of studying at home, there is a perfect study spot nearby.

Waseda University

Waseda University has three campuses within a 15-minute walk of U Share. Each campus offers plenty of classrooms, libraries, and open seminar rooms that students can use throughout the day and on weekends. The campuses are also accessible during holidays with your student ID card, making them reliable study locations all year round.

Most spaces are quiet and comfortable, allowing you to fully concentrate on assignments, research, or exam preparation. The only time finding a peaceful spot can become challenging is during finals week, when many students are looking for the same quiet corners. During busy periods, it is a good idea to arrive earlier or explore less crowded areas of campus.

Akha Ama Coffee and Other Coffee Shops

For students who prefer a little background noise while studying or need a caffeine boost to stay focused, there are many coffee shops within walking distance of U Share.

Akha Ama Coffee is a personal favorite because of the atmosphere it offers. The cafe has a calm and welcoming environment with two floors, making it a great place to read, review notes, or work on smaller assignments while enjoying high-quality coffee. Many other cafes around Waseda and Takadanobaba also provide comfortable spaces for studying, with a variety of coffee, tea, and snacks available.

However, it is always a good idea to check before settling in for a long study session. Some cafes do not provide Wi-Fi, limit laptop use, or are designed mainly for short visits. Many smaller coffee roasters and specialty cafes focus on creating a relaxed coffee experience rather than serving as workspaces, so respecting their rules and choosing the right cafe is important.

U Share Study Lounge

Even with so many convenient study spots nearby, sometimes the best place to study is simply home. Luckily, U Share itself offers several excellent spaces where residents can focus without leaving the building.

Both WC1 and WC2 provide study areas available 24/7 with free Wi-Fi, making them convenient for late-night study sessions or last-minute assignments.

At WC1, the basement is one of the best places to concentrate. With bean bags, couches, and conventional desks and chairs, it offers different types of seating depending on your study style. It is also common to see other residents working there. If you want a space with a little more energy, try Dreamspark, the cafe and brewery located on the first floor of WC1. The staff is always super friendly and U Share residents receive discounts on drinks and snacks.

At WC2, the second-floor study lounge is specifically designed for focused work. This quiet area is perfect for exam preparation, writing reports, or completing assignments that require concentration. Additionally, the rooftop and outdoor terrace provide great options when you want fresh air, natural light, or a change of scenery while studying.

Finding Your Perfect Study Environment

One of the best parts about living at U Share is having so many different study options within reach. Some days you may need the silence and resources of the university library. Other days, a coffee shop atmosphere may help you stay creative and motivated. And sometimes, the convenience of walking downstairs to a quiet study lounge is exactly what you need.
